During the case study i learned that there were many different ways sony used cross media convergence and synergy to promote their movie. sony pictures used CMC with record labels and asked to have eminem make a song for the movie venom. the song was literally called “Venom.” and by releasing action figures of venom that is a form of synergy they promoted the film them selfs and the also promote their own products that the company also owns like for instance Sony also owns Plays Station 4 and in the movie venom they used a ps4 in the movie that is another form of synergy because it is their own product.
I also learned that a lot of movies will market really hard over seas and try to get ticket sales higher over seas then they will domestically. they make posters and advertise by having the actors post on their social media accounts. there would be trailers on different websites to promote the movie and also on youtube. so this is what I have learned in the case studies.
